So, between blog and channel, Sappho has brought me a bunch of work. In particular, the videos have required a lot of things that are musics or, technically, poetry, since they are metered. I want to gather all that stuff here, for archival purposes, and to avoid losing stuff to scattering across files. There are other things that belong here and are not Sappho-related, whence the more generic title

Tune for "Mystery Gongyla"
This is me musicating a translation of the Gongyla poem found online which is impossible to match with the original, so I wanted to have it as a standalone song on LT. I made it two-voiced so one voice sings in Greek and one in Italian. I give you the score, then the usual history spoiler.
Note: recording-day (24/5) tweak to voice 2 not reflected in the score abouve, but is in the below, with an extra apparently 12/6/25 16:47 tweak:
Tune for "About the Cicada"
Tune for "Dearest offspring of Uranus and Gaia"

Tune for the Alcaeus fragment on Helen
Final incipit for the Arignota fragment
So after finding out Σάρδεσιν was probably not Aeolic, I had to reintegrate the incipit of the fragment. I initially tried to use a form of a supposed πηλορόω or something like that that was supposed to give πηλόροισ' as a participle (it's actually a dative, πηλόροισιν < πήλορος = τηλουρός), then I gave up and went with πῆλ' ἄπεστιν. Here is the story:

Opening for crossovers of the Mick Gorro and the Classics, Ψάπφω ἀ Λεσβία, and Saffu in Siçilianu series
This is just superimposing the Mick Gorro and the Classics opening with the Saffu in Siçilianu opening, with "And in English" in its tune and "E Italiano" in the "Et Latīnē" tune, then part two just has the English controcanto lyrics as new from when I thought this up in late July 2025, but the versions of the fragments cover are covered here.Opening for crossovers of the Mick Gorro and the Classics and Ἀλκαῖος ὀ Μιτυλήναος series

Opening for the canceled Safo en Castellano video
An episode «Ψάπφω ἀ Λεσβία | Safo de Lesbo en métrica bárbara en Español» was planned for 6/2/33 (as of 10/11/24) to sing the barbarous meter Spanish translations found at this link and included in the edition. The opening imagined with one voice saying "En Castellano" much the same way as the @Sic opening has one saying "In Siçilianu". However, I now have a Greek-Spanish series planned instead, so that episode will be replaced by the first episode of that series, which does not include those translations, many of which belong in different episodes.
On 7/11/24 at 20:54, I started a Spanish Sapphic stanza intro for this episode, with «Hoy de Safo yo voy a presentarvos / Cinco poesías».

Tune for "I truly wish I were dead" (LP 94)
Translating the account from the Italian edition and adding a few recent messages.
We start with the first two lines in the first of a series of Fb voice notes ("VN"), on 18/3/19 at 0:57:05, where l. 2 is in its final form while l. 1 has οὖδεν ἄρ' as CBb A G and ὄψομαι AA F DD, with that long D not connecting to the next line.
At 1:00:40 in VN 2 -δεν and ἄρ' become G and Bb respectively.
At 1:07:05 in VN 3:
- L. 3 gets started;
- λως θέ- becomes FG E – mis-singing, according to the account of the history I made like the following day, but it remakined for quite a while;
- L. 3 in final tune;
- As it turns out, «avevo fatto anche l'altro verso ma non mi ricordo più come faceva» (I'd also made the other line but I don't remember what the tune was), i.e. l. 4 was made but the version from back then was lost.
At 1:07:38 in VN 4 we habe BbBb G GF A A FE G DD for l. 4, a tune termed as "Mah".
So all that should be left is changing καὶ from GA to GF, fixing οὔδεν, and undoing the change to -λως θέ-, then we're at final form.
At 1:09:47 in VN 5 we find l. 5 in its final tune; what became of the FE EC I remember, I don't know.
At 1:13:32 in VN 6 I skip a line and do l. 7 in final form.
At 1:15:47 in VN 7 the skipped line appears, at first starting with EE FG GA for Ψάπφ' ἢ μὰν, to then get to DD EF GA AB AA A A CC B AA.
At 1:41:04 in VN 8 οὔδεν gets fixed, though it becomes οὔποτ'.
THe recap from 18:16 on 18/3, i.e. the same day of these 8 VNs, changes the note of -μαι (ὄψομαι) from D to E, and brings l. 6 to EE AG FE A B AA A A CC B AA.
We then skip to 22/3/19, where at 7:47:34 in an unnumbered VN Ψάπφ' ἢ μάν σ' ἀέκοισ' ἀπυλιππάνω becomes A AG AB A B AA A A AA B AA, with that AA B AA then becoming EE B AA. I comment «Then there was another version, which I completely forgot, and that's probably why I remember midnight-22 so clearly», so one would assume these things are from nighttime.
At 7:54:22 in another unnumbered VN we have AA AG AB C D CC C C AA B AA and then AA AG AB C D CC C C BB C AA.
I then only come back to this on 15/7/19, where VN 9 from 00:13:32 brings:
- FG ABb for χαίροισ'; «Oh wait a second, that's not how the pitch accent goes»;
- ABb GA CC Bb A ABb G AA (not ABb GA CC A F BbA G AA as I'd previously written in this index) for all of l. 8;
- F^F^ ED (μέμναισ') CBb A Bb (οἶσθα γὰρ) GA A F GA E FF (ὤς σε πεδήπομεν);
- The option GA A F FG C FF for ὤς σε πεδήπομεν, as well as GA A A FG E F for the same part;
- «And that was done by 10:57 [recte 22:57], and then at between then and 23, I thought back to a previous, um, stanza, and I wasn't sure if ω… if it was ὦμ' or ὤμ', so I… uuuh… welp.»; but VN 11 from 0:14:05 specifies «I mean 22:57 on the 13th of July, not, like, less than 2h ago, a day and that much ago.», so all these things are from 13, not from 5;
At 0:13:51 in VN 10 we get EF DC BA E A CC B AA forr ὤμ' ὠς δεῖνα πεπόνθαμεν.
At 15:51:18 in VN 12 12 with cicadas:
- F^F^ C CD D E DD E D for αἰ δὲ μή_ἀλλά σ' ἔγω θέλω;
- DD BbB GG F E EF for ὄμναισαι τὰ σὺ λά-, followed by "No.".
Lastly, at 15:52:22 in VN 13 still with cicadas:
- DD BbBb FF F E EF for ὄμναισαι τὰ σὺ λά-, followed by HmHm (clearing throat);
- DD BbBb FF E D ABb G FF for l. 8;
- DD F^F^ DD D D CBBb C Bb DD C BbBb (did I want to modulate?) for the following line, in fact Bb DD A BbBb ἐπάσχομεν;
- «And this, uuh, these three lines were done within 1:10, uuh, of the 15th of July, which is today, and, umm, there is a part at the beginning which was done within 1, I think it was the first two of these three lines, I'm not sure though.».
Alas, these VNs from 15/7 get completely forgotten by the second recap, from 14:46 on 2/1/24, where we have three changes:
- ἀδόλως θέλω goes back to E A FE G DD;
- πόλλα καὶ ends up with GF instead of GA, i.e. καὶ gets fixed;
- Ψάπφ' ἦ μάν σ' ἀέκοισ' ἀπυλιμπάνω becomes EE AG FA A B AA A A CC B AA.
On 16/10/22 at 21:39 I remake ll. 8-9 ABb AG CC A F BbC A GG (21:33) and AA FF AG A G BbC A F ABb G F (21:35).
Then on 23/4/24 I come back to this, and σ' ἀέκοισ' ἀπυλιππάνω becomes A B AA C C CC D CA at 2:38, to then become, together with μὰν, FA F G EE A A AA B AA at 12:40, which is the final form.
On 16/7/24 then, after transcribing the VNs and putting the whole story together, I decide at 15:29 to make ll. 8-9 into ABb GA CC Bb A ABb G AA and F^F^ ED CBb A G BbC A F ABb G FF respectively.
At 15:31 then I make the latter into F^F^ ED CBb A G BbC A F CA G FF.
I then go back to 11-12 at 15:41, making at first DD BbBb FF E D ABb G FF (ὄμναισαι τὰ σὺ λάθεαι) and DD F^F^ DD D D CBBb C Bb DD A BbBb (ὄσσ' ἄμμες φίλα καὶ κάλ' ἐπάσχομεν, to then go to DD BbBb GG F E EF D CC.
To connect those two, at 15:42 λάθεαι becomes EF E DD.
Given the acute accent, at 15:45 φίλα becomes D C.
With that, we have arrived at the point when, according to a completely undatable but by now rather old idea, which however definitely followed this answer on Quora, la musica smette di seguirethe tune stops following each line, decides what to do on the next stanza (tercet), and then repeats itself.
Thus, making at 15:58 l. 13, with ἴων passing from Bb FF to Bb GG (whole tune is DD BbBb FF E F DD Bb FF->GG) also at 15:58, and once l. 14 is made at 16 (GEb C AA G A FF Eb DD) and l. 15 at 16:02, split into two pieces (Κάρᾳ σῷ G EbEb AF and the rest F Bb GG F G BbC A BbBb), the tune is over.
But then there's text variants, whence the following messages:
