Me sa che faccio doppia intro…
Vediamo 'ste cose!

And now what language do I speak? Guess I'mma do double intro… Welp, then, as you will by now have understood (or maybe not, all the recent posts with mentions of this were in Italian…), I've been digging through old files for a hot minute, looking for info on the dates of certain translations – specifically Sappho and the Chinese and Japanese songs translated in the last year of High School and the first one of Uni. Recently, I thought of my diary, and started reading the pieces I have on my computer. Something about the translations from Chinese and Japanese of High School time I have found too. THen I read this long piece that goes from 13/6/11 to 12/7/11. Now, in this time interval we find the "vacanzina" of GS (26/6-1/7), basically a week were all the GS people from my school (and not only) go to the mountains together, and go hiking, play games, and reflect on religion-related themes. That "small vacation" is narrated in all details, including the games, to the point where some of "support songs" that spectators sing for their teams are reported, words only. These songs are filled with insults for opposing teams, referred to by their colors (and we had the red, green, gray, and blue teams here), or for the opposing captains, and praise for the singers' team and captain. And of one such song, which was sung on the notes of Tranne te on 29/6, I made, «ad canis cazzum» (as the diary says, mimicking in macaronic Latin the Italian phrase «alla cazzo di cane», lit. «à la dog's dick», i.e. randomly, casually, for no reason), a rhythmic and rhyming English translation, as I reminisced about the vacation on 5/7 in bed. And this is the content of this post.
Momento. There's also a couple of other little trifles. On 1/7/10, coming back from the vacanzina, «We arrive and come down [from the bus], and we experience a thermic shock from an unheard-of heat wave, such that I start singing, like «Po po po po po po po», «Qui si crepa dal caldo», «Qui andiamo arrosto», «Fucking heat’s gonna roast us».», quoth my diary. So we have these little phrases to the tune of Po po po, one translated to English in the moment, the other one later, on 14/10/21, as «Here we're dying of/from heat stroke!» at 16:17 and then as «We | are dying of heat stroke» at 16:18.
After which, shortly after 21:30 on 14/2/22, I find on Fb a funny image themed around "cats at S. Valentine". I decide to send it to the group of musicians of L'Aquila, but I know there's someone in there who doesn't speak English, so voilà, 21:36-21:38 I translate it. And we add it here, because this little nonsense doesn't deserve a post of its own :). For completeness, I include the English with the translation at its side, and the literal translations of the two versions in the other language below said versions.
And then, on 21/4/22 at 18:56, I probably find, and definitely self-send, the owner's response, to translate it to Italian. I recover it on 23/4/22, and translate it at 15:13.
Finally, at least for now, we have a toast made at the wedding I went to in Spain in mid-March 2022, which I very randomly translated, way earlier than 12:58 in the morning of 16/6/22, still in bed and forgetting to write it down, into Spanish, starting with «A la salud», then changing it to «Para la salud» and finally to «Pa' la salud» as below. Sometime in March 2023 I ask Wiktionary how to say "toast" in Spanish and it replies "brindis". So I say: let's implement this thing in the translation. Thus, at 1:13 on 4/3/23, I decide to use brindisi once and brindis the other time. On 4/8/23 at 21:17, planning to maybe make a video with many of these translations, I think that having this one in English as well would be more consistent with the rest of the translations, and translate half of it. In fact, only "in società" is missing, which gets translated to English the next day, at 17:27, after a reverso-context search. Having just put the English into here the previous night, and knowing that a column-filler is missing, on 6/8/23 at 8:35-36 I make the German.
And then, on 14/6/23, probably because breakfast is planned to be almond milk and cereal, I think back to this commercial song "Milk and cereal" I've heard many times on BTG (Youtube gaming channel I watch) and since quite a while ago too, and I translate it to Italian at 10:12. Gotta say, losing the inversion "Milk and cereal, cereal and milk" is a shame, but I really can't do that in Italian.
7/7/23 20:18, my cousin's wedding, we're waiting for the second course since a lifetime ago, «Ave, ave, avemo fame» comes to my mind, and I produce the English below.
Morning of 31/12/23, as I shave, the song «È Natale e a Natale si può fare di più» comes to mind, and welp, I translate it to English. Actually it's just the chorus.
Let's see this stuff!

Ma perché
Ti presenti qua davanti a me?
Ma ritirati che meglio è:
La vittoria, no, non fa per te…
Ee… ee.
Solo noi,
Noi dei rossi, tutti grandi eroi,
Vinceremo solamente noi…
Noi… noi.

Se tu sei bella e rossa,
Grida «Oooh! Oooh!»,
Se non sei verde marcio,
Grida «Oooh! Oooh
Se tu sei bella e rossa,
Grida «Oooh! Oooh!»,
Se non sei grigio topo,
Grida «Oooh! Oooh!»,
Forza rossi vinceremo!
