  1. 「26/1/23 23:23-23:25 I quickly Spanishize this song. I then tweak it at 11:25 and 20:18 the next day, getting to [casi la versión abajo]. On 29/1/23 I make a couple more tweaks, specifically getting to «Y por eso yo canto así» for the last line at 16:09, and making the male-singer version of l. 3 at 17:32-33, «Yo soy otro hombre ahora!».」 (El 26/1/23 a las 23:23-23:25 Españolizo rápido esta canción. La modifico después a las 11:25 y 20:18 del día siguiente, llegando a [casi la versión abajo]. El 29/1/23 hago dos otras modifiquitas, specificamente llegando a «Y por eso yo canto así» [en lugar de «Es por eso que canto así»] para la última lína a las 16:09, y haciendo la versión para cantante hombre de la línea 3 a las 17:32-33, «Yo soy otro hombre ahora!»;
  2. 「Right after the previous, 23:48-0:28, I do most of the Greek. The next morning and at about 20:10 I finish it, and sent Kika the following version on 28/1/23 at 1:47」 (Justo después de la precedente, a las 23:48-0:28, hago la mayor parte del Griego.

「After a couple tweaks the next morning, and Kika corrections the following afternoon, we land at」 (Después de unas modifiquitas de la mañana siguiente, y de las correcciones de la Kika de la tarde siguiente, llegamos a):

    Δόξα τω Θεώ,
    Η ζωή μου άλλαξε!
    Τι έκπληξη! Τι αλλαγή!
    Η θλίψη μου τέλειωσε.
    Με σέν’ έμαθα να γελώ…
    Αχ, πως έχω πάθει!
    Μα να κλαίω έχω παύσει!
Μου έστησες μια γιορτή στην καρδιά,
Κι έτσι εγώ τραγουδώ γι' αυτά!

    「On 29/1/23 at 15:11 I come up with «Τόσο έχω κλάψει, / Μα τώρ' έχω πάψει!», which keeps the crying, but goes back to overly formal pápsë… wait why did I undo this change? I probably just liked the above version better. I think I'll mention this one in the post, only in the intro.」(El 29/1/23 a las 15:11 me invento «Τόσο έχω κλάψει, / Μα τώρ' έχω πάψει!», que mantiene el llanto, pero se vuelve al demasiado formal πάψει… espera, ¿por qué anulé esta modífica? Probablemente sólo me gustaba más la versión arriba. Creo que voy a mencionar esta versión en el post, sólo en la introducción); el 25/2/23, mientras que me afeito, pienso de nuevo en esta traducción y su neutro plural αυτά sin buena justificación, y creo la versión «Μου στην καρδιά έστησες μια γιορτή, / Κι έτσι εγώ τραγουδώ γι' αυτή!» para substituir con esa la actual «Μου έστησες μια γιορτή στην καρδιά, / Κι έτσι εγώ τραγουδώ γι' αυτά!»; hablando de eso con Kika, es de acuerdo conmigo que así tiene más sentido, pero tiene que ser ajustada en «Στην καρδιά μου»; como así parece "kárdia" y no "kardiá", le pregunto qué puedo poner como monosílabo antes the στην, y así a las 17:00 más o menos llegamos a la versión abajo;
  3. 「At 11:08 on 27/1/23, as I make tweaks for the "Thank God" reading of "Graças a Deus" (like Gracias a Dios -> Gracias al cielo and Χάρη στον Θεό -> see above), I think of doing the Sicilian, so as to keep the "passati remoti" instead of having to use "passati prossimi" in Italian, and do the first two lines. Then, at 19:53-19:57, I basically finish it, save for the Quem me viu line, which I do at 20:29. I then tweak «Grazzi ô çelu» to the below the next morning, and tweak «È pi chistu ca cantu cussì» to the below at 16:23 the next day, getting to」(A las 11:08 del 27/1/23, mientras que hago las modíficas para la lectura "Gracias al cielo" de "Graças a Deus" (como "Gracias a Dios" -> "Gracias al cielo" y Χάρη στον Θεό -> véase arriba), pienso de hacer el Siciliano, para mantener los "passati remoti" ~ pretéritos indefinidos en lugar de tener que utilizar "passati prossimi" ~ pretéritos perfectos en Italiano, y hago las dos primeras líneas. Después, a las 19:53-19:57, praticamente la término, fuera de la lína del «Quem me viu», que hago a las 20:29. Después mudo «Grazzi ô çelu» en la versión abajo la mañana siguiente, y mudo «È pi chistu ca cantu cussì» en la abajo a las 16:23 del día siguiente, llegando a) la version abajo; tiengo que decir que temo que los indefinidos de la versión Española sean un poquito forzados; a las 1:48 del 3/2/23, en bosquejar este post, eligo "suffriu" y no "pinau"; el 4/2/23 a las 22:46, habiendo casi terminado la preparación del vídeo de esta canción, pienso que "chiantu / 'i cu" sería mejor como "chiantu / Ṙi cu";
  4. Como el Siciliano está sin compañero, le hago el Albanés el 16/3/23 a las 19:49-20:09, con «N' zemrën një festë m' ke organizu,» -> «N' zemrën një fest' ti m' ke organizu,» a las 14:38 del 17/3/23.
Con todo eso, ¡veamos la canción!

Maria Isabel

Oggi canzone spagnola, María Isabel, tradotta in Italiano. Al solito, sentiamo IAFI: 「28/9/22, as I roll over in bed, with the trio of La playa in mind, I randomly translate this one to Italian, in the phases: 2:51-2:53, 3:07-3:09, 3:31-3:48. Btw, I decide to have «Calienta el sol» once and «Caliente al sol» the other time in the chorus.」「Il 28/9/22, rigirandomi nel letto, col trio di La playa in mente, traduco a caso questa in Italiano, nelle [seguenti] fasi: 2:51-2:53, 3:07-3:09, 3:31-3:48. Bon, vediamo 'sta canzone!

La playa estaba desierta
El mar bañaba tu piel
Cantando con mi guitarra
Para ti, María Isabel
(Dos veces)

Coge tu sombrero y póntelo
Vamos a la playa, calienta el sol
Coge tu sombrero y póntelo
Vamos a la playa, calienta el sol

Chiribiribí, po pom pom pom
(Cuatro veces)

En la arena escribí tu nombre
Y luego yo lo borré
Para que nadie pisara
Tu nombre, María Isabel
(Dos veces)

Coge tu sombrero y póntelo
Vamos a la playa, calienta el sol
Coge tu sombrero y póntelo
Vamos a la playa, calienta el sol

Chiribiribí, po pom pom pom
(Cuatro veces)

La luna fue caminando
Junto a las olas del mar
Tenía celos de tus ojos
Y tu forma de mirar
(Dos veces)

Coge tu sombrero y póntelo
Vamos a la playa, calienta el sol
Coge tu sombrero y póntelo
Vamos a la playa, calienta el sol

Chiribiribí, po pom pom pom
(Cuatro veces)
La spiaggia era un deserto,
Il mare bagnava sol te,
Cantando con la mia chitarra
Sol per te, María Isabel.
(Due volte)

Prendi il tuo sombrero e mettilo:
Forza, andiamo in spiaggia, ci scalda il sol.
Prendi il tuo sombrero e mettilo:
Forza, andiamo in spiaggia, ci scalda il sol.

Ciribiribì, po pom pom pom
(Quattro volte)

Nella sabbia il tuo nome scrissi
E presto lo cancellai
Per non farlo calpestare
A nessuno mai, María Isabel
(Due volte)

Prendi il tuo sombrero e mettilo:
Forza, andiamo in spiaggia, ci scalda il sol.
Prendi il tuo sombrero e mettilo:
Forza, andiamo in spiaggia, ci scalda il sol.

Ciribiribì, po pom pom pom
(Quattro volte)

Vediamo che dice IAFI: 「 On 4/12/22 at 15:59, having been asked the previous evening if I'd translated this and hearing this in the documentary about the meeting of CL with the Pope in (I think?) November, I translate 1.5 lines of it into Greek. I continue at 16:51, getting to 3 lines. I finish the thing at 22:06-22:24.
I have to note the fact that I misunderstood the lyrics upon hearing them, hearing «Ma il tuo sguardo» instead of «Mai il tuo sguardo», and thus ending up with Greek «Δεν την αγωνία, δεν τον πόνο, / Δεν τον φόβο και τον σπαθί, / Μα θα φεύγω το βλέμμα σου, / Και θ' αφήνω το σπίτι σου.».
Bon, allora vediamola!

Rit.
Il nostro cuore
Non si è perduto,
I nostri passi
Non hanno smarrito la tua strada.

Né l'angoscia, né il dolore,
La paura e la spada... Mai il tuo sguardo fuggirò,
La tua casa lascerò.

Rit.

Della morte, della vita,
Del presente e del futuro
La tua gente non ha paura,
La tua rocca sta sicura.

Rit.

Col mio canto, la mia gioia,
Con l'amore e le parole
La tua gloria loderò,
La tua forza griderò.

Mele Kalikimaka: a mere tweak

I don't think the song of today, namely Mele Kalikimaka, needs any intro, if not that it's literally the Hawaiian language adaptation of "Merry Christmas". Today we have a Latin version of it. The following has been sitting in IAFI ever since it was first posted in February, and has been lying around in my translation notes for over a year now. So at some point in August 2021 I listened to Scorpiō Mārtiānus's Latin version of Mele Kalikimaka and was like, what is this random Greek phrase in the middle of this Latin text? And why feminine? So on 26/8 at an unknown time between 2 and 2:29, I come up with the following fully Latin opening

Mele Kalikimaka tibi augurō/nūntiō
Havajānō djē Nātālītjō

I then do two lines of Wasurenaide Latin, and then leave this as is for 4 days. On 30/8 at 16:49 I take it out again and, through «... ita dīcō (perh. sīc dīcō)» (16:49), «ita dīcimus/dīcitur» (16:49, ditched because no rhyme), «tibi dīcō», I finally come to «tibi dīcō ego» (16:56), thus making the final Latin version:

Melē Kalīkīmākā tibi dīcō ego
Havajānō djē Nātālītjō

[Yeah, final until it's not. Not sure what made me think this was better, but "tibi auguro" sounds better to me now, 21/12/22 0:10, and is what I ended up writing in the text below and singing when I recorded this on 20/12/22 between 13 and 14, so that will be my final version.]
Then I think, maybe I should keep the Greek, but make it masculine instead of ἀγαθὴ φίλη. After all, mixing Latin and Greek isn't unknown in classical times. So sometime between 31/8 16:52 and 29/8 18:40, I think of ἀγαθὲ σὺ φίλε, which by those 16:52 turns into ἀγαθέ γε φίλε, this giving the two Greek alternatives:

Melē Kalīkīmākā, ἀγαθέ γε φίλε / ἀγαθὴ φίλη
Havajānō Nātālītjō djē

«mi amīce cāre» from 31/8/21 17:00 gets ditched because it doesn't rhyme.
This is where we leave IAFI, and come to the present, where there is just one thing: misremembering this, I sang «Diesque perfelices» in the closing, but it's actually «Diesque tam felices». I like my version better, so at 21:25 on 19/12/22 I decide to implement it, and at 21:26 I limit this to the below pure Latin version. Yes, I will be giving three versions below: original with female addressee, mixed with Greek and with male addressee, and pure Latin with ungendered addressee. Also, as I typed in the lyrics below, the whole song is to a "tu", and suddenly the closing is "vōbīs", that makes no sense, so I'll switch it to "tibī" in my version.
Wow, I always knew the lyrics wrong! I thought it was "great and bright" and "is a wise way"!
Let's see this!

Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas day
That's the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way
To say Merry Christmas to you

Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way
To say Merry Christmas, a very merry Christmas,
A very merry merry merry Christmas to you
Melē Kalīkīmākā, ἀγαθὴ φίλη,
Hāvājānō Nātālīcjō djē.
Est salūs quam citō multam nūntiō
Tibi lītore palmātō.
Scīmus hīc Nātālem fore lūcidum,
Splendentem sōlem tum noctem stēllārum.
Melē Kalīkīmākā, Hāvājānē
Optāmus hōrās faustās tibī.

Melē Kalīkīmākā, Hāvājānē
Optāmus hōrās faustās, diēsque tam fēlīcēs,
Optāmusque hōrās faustās vōbīs!
Melē Kalīkīmākā, ἀγαθέ γε φίλε,
Hāvājānō Nātālīcjō djē.
Est salūs quam citō multam nūntiō
Tibi lītore palmātō.
Scīmus hīc Nātālem fore lūcidum,
Splendentem sōlem tum noctem stēllārum.
Melē Kalīkīmākā, Hāvājānē
Optāmus hōrās faustās tibī.

Melē Kalīkīmākā, Hāvājānē
Optāmus hōrās faustās, diēsque tam fēlīcēs,
Optāmusque hōrās faustās vōbīs!
Melē Kalīkīmākā tibī augurō
Hāvājānō djē Nātālīcjō.
Est salūs quam citō multam nūntiō
Tibi lītore palmātō.
Scīmus hīc Nātālem fore lūcidum,
Splendentem sōlem tum noctem stēllārum.
Melē Kalīkīmākā, Hāvājānē
Optāmus hōrās faustās tibī.

Melē Kalīkīmākā, Hāvājānē
Optāmus hōrās faustās, diēsque tam fēlīcēs,
Optāmusque hōrās faustās tibī!

Que vivas

Y hoy tenemos… I translate the first half of this into Spanish, then at 1:54, not sure the Spanish works (I think the main doubt was "canudo", then again, that was a doubt for Portuguese too), I turn it into Portuguese. Unless I'm much mistaken, "canudo" is grey-haired in Spanish and doesn't exist in Portuguese, so I guess I should discard the latter and continue the former. Then at 15:08-15:19 on 18/11/22, as a time-filler since I don't know what to do because with COVID I don't want to force myself but I don't feel like doing anything, I make up my mind and work on these, and finish both: [como abajo, con una diferéncia que voy a describir luego]」, lo que es decir「el 6/11/22 a las 1:52 traduco la primera mitad de esta canción al Español, después, a las 1:54, no siendo cierto que el Español funcione (creo que la duda mayor habia sido "canudo", pero bueno, esto era una duda para el Portugués también), la transformo al Portugués.

Balada da caridade (Ballad of charity)

Yes, we have a post in English today :). It's about a Portuguese song translated to Greek. The song is Balada da caridade. Quoting IAFI, 「25/10/22 I think of that song, try and fail with Italian, deem it impossible, and switch to Greek. 20:01-20:09 chorus, then pre-chorus 20:23 and 20:46, resulting in: [chorus and pre-chorus of original below]. 4:32 «Αν, μπορώντας, σήμερα, / Αχ, δεν μεταβόλησα», then as I disciuss it with Kika I do verse 1 the next day 16:22-16:36, then verse 2 16:48-16:57. The original versions are: [see below original tab]. After Kika corrections and some more work, at 20:00 on 26/10 I send in the following recap: [basically the below final version]. The only change from there is the start of verse 2 [«Το σφύριγμα του ανέμου / Σαν νυχτερινό ‘ναι μέλος,» in the recap], which becomes «Ο αέρας που σφυρίζει / Σαν ωδή με νανουρίζει OR Στη νυχτιά με νανουρίζει» within the afternoon of 27/10. Actually, the «Αν, μπορώντας, σήμερα, / Αχ, τα χέρια σταύρωσα;» had the Αν, μπορώντας coming from «I did not intervene», which was completely changed in meaning when the idiom "cross the arms" was implemented. I could make the second of those lines into Αχ, δε τον βοήθησα, thought up 12/11/22 15:40, but I don't know if it's worth it. Nah, let's leave it as is.」 The choice between Σαν ωδή με νανουρίζει and Στη νυχτιά με νανουρίζει is made on recording day (3/12/22), not sure when. On that day, as I cut the recording, I also realize « Την ακούει με αγωνία·» should have Τον because it refers to the wind which is masculine. Again, not sure when, but definitely between 14:07 and 14:31. About the last remark in the IAFI quote, on 20/1/23 at 8:35 I think of «Αν εχθές και σήμερα» and then «Αν και χθες και σήμερα», which I decided to implement below. Let's see the song! I wonder what column-filler I will do…
Welp, 22/1/23 10:46 outside the church I start an Italian version with the chorus, starting verse 1 at 10:57 once back home, and some more at 11:16. I report it below in its partial version, to complete it when it becomes complete. As I put it in, 19:36 on 25/1/23, I do the first two lines of the pre-ref. At 19:37 I add the "ho" in the last line of the chorus. Verse 2 line 2, 19:38. I finally take it up again at 19:34-19:51 on 5/4/23, leaving only the penultimate two lines of verse one undone, and I deal with those at 1:04 the following night. I leave below the incomplete IAFI version because I changed it a lot on 5/4. As I place it here that night, «La mia notte va allietando,» becomes the below at 1:10.
On 5/4/23 I'm like, «怎么能够 / 来<>地休眠啊», oh whoops, I've started a Chinese version! I come back to it and, at 9:55-10:15, 11:05-11:15, 11:23, 11:32-11:35, and 12:19, I complete it as below.

Para mim
A chuva no telhado
É cantiga de ninar
Mas o pobre meu irmão…
Para ele a chuva fria
Vai entrando em seu barraco
E faz lama pelo chão

[Pre-ref.]
Como posso
Ter sono sossegado
Se no dia que passou
Os meus braços eu cruzei?

[Refrão]
Como posso ser feliz
Se ao pobre meu irmão
Eu fechei meu coração
Meu amor eu recusei?

[Refrão]
Como posso ser feliz
Se ao pobre meu irmão
Eu fechei meu coração
Meu amor eu recusei?

Para mim
O vento que assovia
É noturna melodia
Mas o pobre meu irmão
Ouve o vento angustiado
Pois o vento, esse malvado
Lhe desmancha o barracão

[Pre-ref.]
Como posso
Ter sono sossegado
Se no dia que passou
Os meus braços eu cruzei?

[Refrão]
Como posso ser feliz
Se ao pobre meu irmão
Eu fechei meu coração
Meu amor eu recusei?

[Refrão]
Como posso ser feliz
Se ao pobre meu irmão
Eu fechei meu coração
Meu amor eu recusei?

Αχ, δεν μεσολάβησα;

Questa pioggia sì gelata
Nella baracca gli è entrata
E del fango in terra fa.

Sono stato a guardar?

Se per me
Il vēnto, fischiando,
Questa notte va allietando,
Il povero fratello mio
Con angoscia lui lo sente,
Perché il vento prepotente
La baracca gli disfà!

We are the champions

Do I even need to introduce this song? We are the champions, by the Queen. Let's quote IAFI on the Italian version, which is sitting there complete since quite some time: 「On 15/8/22, I hear this song playing in "Big bang theory", which dad is watching in the living room, and randomly translate the chorus: «Noi siamo i campioni, amico, / E fino alla fine lotterem, / Siamo i campioni, / Siamo i campioni, / Niente perdenti: / Noi siamo i campioni => I campioni del mondo / Siamo noi!» The chorus reaches its final form the following night at 0:40-0:41. At 1:53-2:13, I do the following version of the first verse: «Le tasse ho pagato, / Come deve ognun. On 18/8/22 at 23:51, I come back to this, and finish it, taking up to 19/8/22 0:34. I then post the result lyricstranslate, where the other Italian translation and the lyrics have helped me fix a couple things:」. As I make the cuts to the video on 12/11/22, I realize I mistranslated the start of verse 2, so from «Mi sono inchinato, / E sul palco m'han chiamato,» I make it what is below at 12:37-38. Let's see it!

I've paid my dues
Time after time,
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime,
And bad mistakes,
I've made a few,
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face,
But I've come through!

And I need to go
On and on and on and on

Chorus
'Cause we are the champions, my friend,
And we'll keep on fighting till the end!
We are the champions!
We are the champions!
No time for losers,
'Cause we are the champions
Of the world

I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls:
You brought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it,
I thank you all,
But it's been no bed of roses,
No pleasure cruise.
I consider it a challenge
Before the whole human race,
And I ain't gonna lose!

And I need to go
On and on and on and on

Chorus
Sempre ho pagato
Dei miei debiti ognun,
Una pena ho scontato
Senza crimine alcun,
E gravi error
Ne ho fatti un po',
M'han calciato la polvere
In faccia, e anche allor
Trionfato ho!

E dovrò avanzar
Sempre sempre sempre più!

Rit.
Amico, i campioni noi siam,
E fino alla fine noi lottiam!
Siamo i campioni,
Siamo i campioni,
Niente perdenti:
I campioni del mondo
Siamo noi!

Mi sono inchinato,
E sul palco m'han chiamato,
Voi m'avete dato fama e fortuna
E tutto quel che viene poi:
Grazie a tutti voi.
Non è stata una passeggiata
O un viaggio di piacer:
La considero una sfida
Davanti a tutta l'umanità,
E la vittoria è un dover!

E dovrò avanzar
Sempre sempre sempre più!

Rit.
