Being left

Here is another bit of parting sorrow: two songs, one in Mandarin, one in Min Nan, the dialect version of the Mandarin one, both titled "Tomorrow" in their respective languages, that is 明天 | míngtiān and 明仔載 | bîn-á-tsài, both translated to English, the latter in late Dec 2017, probably on the 28th, and the former way back before May 14, 2013, probably in that spring. Actually, the Min one also has two Mandarin renditions. The first one is found in a C20130618-M20130822 file, meaning it was made within 22/8/13, but probably much earlier, and is more of a half-hearted attempt at trasferring the thing into Mandarin for more straightforward understanding, with slight modifications to fit the tune. The second one first appears in a C20130822-M20130901, which means it was probably made between 22/8/13 and 1/9/13, and is an actual translation with rhymes.
OK, let's put some order in this:

1. The Chinese-English translation appears in this Facebook note last edited 5/5/13, so it was done within that date; given that, in the sessions, the song appears first in session 20 from 13/7/12, and then no more until the 9/5/13 part of session 131, I'm going to say it was not made before Session 130, which dates to 27/4/13; on 22/8/22 at 15:39 I change «My heart's grief is gushing free» to «My heart's grief I feel gush free» and then «I feel my heart's grief gush free»; at 15:39 on 30/8/22 I write to myself «In my heart there's gushing grief => there gushes grief», thus getting to the below version;
2. The Chinese-Hakka translation is from much later; let me quote IAFI: « On 3/6/22 at 11:56 I start translating this song to Hakka with ll. 3-4 of the first section. Again in a break from work on 11/8/22 I do the first two lines, just for completeness, at 15:15»; on 22/8/22 at 15:44, 5 mins after an English tweak, I set off to complete this; 15:57 it's done, shortly afterwards it's on Hakka Verse;
3. The mandarinization of the Min song is in a file from session 131, and again is nowhere else before then apart from session 20, and it's in this Fb note also last edited 5/5/13, so I'm going to set it in the same timeframe, but before the Chinese-English, based solely on the order of the two notes;
4. The Min-Chinese translation, as said above, appears in a file created 22/8/13 11:25 and edited 1/9/13 15:41, which means it was probably made between those two timestamps, since it does not appear in the previous file, created 18/7/13 15:55 and last edited 22/8/13 11:24; on recording day, i.e. on 28/5/22 at 11:48, I changed 别人嫁给你 to 别人来娶你 because, me being a hetero male, this would be addressed to a hetero female, and hence the correct verb is 娶; as I caption the video the following night, I get the suspicion that 真的爱惜你 isn't a very good translation, so I replace it with 十分珍惜你; 16/6/22 10:40 I think of 你想我只靠山你, doubtful whether kàoshān can be used as a verb; on 24/6/22 at 1:20, I realize it probably can't, and the correct verb is 支持; I therefore go replace 帮 with it.
5. The Min-English translation is way more recent, being made in blog times, more precisely «in late Dec 2017, probably on the 28th», where the imprecision is probably due to me stupidly not writing down the date and the screenshots being deleted; except a. the SS weren't deleted, b. this was included into this Fb note in the night between 25 and 26/12/17, and c. it's in my self-chat in a message from 19/12/17, so that is when it was made, and it wasn't changed until it ended up in the draft of this post on 3/1/18, in the original version on the left; on recording day, i.e. on 28/5/22 at 11:42, I fix the mistranslation «I hope that your feelings» to «I am hoping your eyes»; after recording, as I cut the video, I change «If you marry, I / Can but watch you so do» to the below form at 16:59. At 20:17 on 30/5/22 then «For my love for you / I give to solitude» becomes «For this love locks me up / In solitude!», possibly inspired by the Greek, and the first of these two lines becomes what it is below at 20:19 that day; this results in the revised right-hand version.
6. There is also a Min-Greek translation, which is far more recent, having been made partly in the wee hours of the night of 30/5/22 (between 2:11 and 4:27, mostly after 3) and partly between 12:41 and 13:33 on the same day; Kika's corrections came in 10:29, and right now, 16:49, we still have one last thing to clarify, the very beginning, which I last updated 15:50. 25/7/22 in the evening I make some tweaks to make this more literal. I will leave the recorded version there as a second version.
